MY MUSIC NOTE DRUM WORKSHOP 2014

Mr Isioma Williams and Mr Adisa Abiodun Timothy.

My Music Note workshop took place from the 7th to the 11th of July, 2014 from 10:00am to 1:00pm daily at Gongbeat Studio, N.C.A.C. (Artiste Village), National Art Theater, Iganmu, Lagos.

The workshop, the second edition, provided an opportunity for African drummers and percussionists to learn the theory of music to upgrade themselves to the standard required of them internationally.

Irawo was there as a participant. Mr. Dayo Liadi, a dancer and the creative director of the Ijodee Dance Company, was one of the sponsors and participants.

He made the class lively with his jokes as he humbly learnt the rudiments of the music notations we were taught.

I advise drummers who missed this edition to plan to be there for the next one.

The instructors for this workshop were Mr. Isioma Williams and Mr. Adisa Abiodun Timothy.

Mr. Isioma has held several distinguished positions as an artistic director, project co-coordinator, dance and music tutor, festival co-coordinator, judge, technical assistant, consultant, choreographer and actor within and outside Nigeria.

He is the former chairman of the Dance Guild of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter and the artistic director of the Drumsview concept.

Mr. Adisa Abiodun is a musician, performer, theorist and music teacher.

He has successfully passed the grade 5, 7 and 8 saxophone performance and theory examinations of the board of the Royal Music School of London and MUSON, Lagos, Nigeria.

He is a music instructor at Drumview Concept and is currently learning African traditional drumming and dancing under the tutelage of Isioma Williams.

He was one of my backup drummers at the Christmas Magic concert where I emerged as the winner of the Christmas magic contest. He played the bata drums.

Kindly watch that video here

He is a saxophone teacher currently studying music at the University of Ibadan.
